Scholarship
Since 2004, OSUSD has offered scholarships to San Diego’s top students. These scholarships are awarded based on both merit and need, and help offset the cost of attending The Ohio State University as an out-of-state student. This is one of the most important ways we, as a Club, pay it forward. We are proud that the Gary M. Rectenwald Scholarship Fund of San Diego, California is endowed.

OSUSD continues to support students who have maintained or exceeded a 3.0 GPA. We have renewed the scholarships for the following upperclassmen:

ScholarshipUniverse simplifies the process of finding and applying for internal and external scholarships at Ohio State. This platform hosts all alumni club scholarships. Apply and/or update your profile each year by The Ohio State University priority date for maximum aid consideration.
Log in to ScholarshipUniverse using your Ohio State username (lastname.#) and password. Need instructions for activating your username? Contact Buckeye Link, 614-292-OHIO, for assistance.
Students do not have to be accepted to Ohio State to apply for a club scholarship. If you have any questions, please contact the Vice President of Student Scholarships, Karen Curtis, at karen@osusandiego.com.
GIVING
The Gary M. Rectenwald Scholarship Fund of San Diego, California would not be possible without donations from alumni, friends and family of the University. Please consider donating, even if it is a small amount. Remember, your charitable gift applies towards your sustaining membership (monthly gift of $10 or more or a one-time gift of $75 for football ticket eligibility) and some employers offer matching gift programs. There are two ways to donate to our endowed scholarship fund:

You will receive a 501c3 receipt directly from The Ohio State University Alumni Association (OSUAA) for your scholarship donation.
If you’re shopping for Buckeye gear online, in-person or by phone, please remember to mention our club or code below because some vendors donate a portion of their sale to our scholarship fund. This is an easy way to pay it forward while you stock up on some Buckeye spirit gear!
