2019 Leadership Symposium Awards

The Ohio State University Alumni Association (OSUAA) invites alumni clubs and societies from across the nation to gather in Columbus for an annual Leadership Symposium. In September 2019, the Ohio State Alumni Club of San Diego (OSUSD) was distinguished as an Outstanding Alumni Club and received an award — Pay It Forward Award for Volunteerism. Thank you to all of our volunteers and leaders who make the San Diego Buckeye community so great!

OSUSD’s current VP Membership, Jen Hemmert, received the Pay It Forward Award for Volunteerism for her leadership of the club. Jen handles all of your membership renewals, leads our shirt fundraiser, organizes the Beach Clean-Up and Picnic in the Park events, and is an integral member of the football gamewatch team. This award is for individuals who, through their service and achievements as a club leader, go above and beyond to support and advance the goals and objectives outlined by OSUAA. She was one of just four individuals across the nation to be recognized for their dedication and superior service to their local alumni clubs and joins two current OSUSD board members as a recipient of this award.

San Diego was recognized as a Scarlet Level Outstanding Alumni Club for the third year in a row! This is the highest status awarded to clubs and entailed high-level programming and events, game day gatherings, a scholarship program, and board, membership, and fundraising requirements. The OSUSD board met this goal again with a lot of hard work.

We are proud of all of our accomplishments! Check out the full list of awards online from the 2019 Leadership Symposium.
